Renewable Natural Gas
Renewable Natural Gas is produced from feedstocks including crop residue, animal and food waste, landfills, wastewater sludge, and other organic waste operations. When processed, it can be used for electricity generation, thermal functions like heating and cooking, bioplastics and vehicle fuel. RNG is an attractive Scope I emission reduction solution.
The source of RNG determines its potency and therefore its cost. Sources of RNG range from landfills (least potent, least expensive) to food waste, to dairy (most potent, most expensive).
RNG purchases are credited against natural gas use, and they are certified by a national database to ensure accounting accuracy.
RNG is a significant tool in achieving decarbonization goals. We can assist multi-site businesses throughout each phase of implementing RNG beginning with analyzing your current load profile.
